3PM EST/12 PM PST
Hosted by Dennis Sherman, Stephen Lenahan and Greg Bothwell.
Have you ever wanted to know how much of a difference a winemaker can make in a wine? This month Dennis, Stephen, and Greg have an exciting tasting to divulge. They will be comparing the similarities and differences between two wines coming from the same vineyard, same vintage, but different winemakers. This tasting will show the effects of terroir (similarities in the wine) and the wine is changed through different winemaking methods. There is no other place in the world that you can truly see the effects that a winemaker has on the wine.
Some of the questions we will be addressing.....
* The village of Santenay
* The specific plot and the difference in vinification methods
* The character of each wine
* The 2018 vintage
* The structure of each wine
* The drinking window of these wines and how they will age
* Other Elden Selection wines where you could explore terroir with friends and family.
Domaine Elodie Roy Santenay 1er Cru ‘Gravieres’ 2018
This Santenay 1er cru Les Gravières offers aromas of cassis, plums, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy, elegant, and muscular, it's a deep and concentrated wine
Domaine Borgeot Santenay 1er Cru ‘Les Gravieres’ 2018
The Borgeot’s 'Gravieres' red is their signature Pinot, with ripe dark fruits tinged with chocolate and coffee, rich, powerful, and fat right through the lingering note of pure blackberry.
