LEFT VS RIGHT BANK CHABLIS CASE
Here is one of our favorite 'tasting-in-a box' themes that we present here at Domaine de Cromey. Now you too can play along! And we'll be there to help.
Here's a recent video of me presenting this very tasting: https://youtu.be/UiWrWH4LzAU (Please subscribe...!)
And it's a great subject. Left Bank Chablis vs Right Bank.
The River Serein runs through the Chablis valley. Wines from the left bank are more mineral and fresh; wines from the right bank are rounder and opulent.
And here we have the 2 wines that epitomize this phenomenon, receive 6 bottles of each PLUS GROUND SHIPPING INCLUDED:
Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils 2016 1er Cru Côte de Lechet is very left bank. Precise, chiseled, almost severe.
Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils 2016 1er Cru Fourchaume, directly across the valley from Cote de Lechet, is ripe, round and juicy. More in the style of the Chablis Grand Cru
But the folks in Chablis love their minerality, so the debate rages through the ages!
