DYNAMIC DUO HOLIDAY CASE
A special bottle of Burgundy will impress your friends
Here are a couple that will make them look twice.
Chassagne-Montrachet needs no introduction...
Domaine Borgeot Chassagne-Montrachet 'Vieilles Vignes' 2018
The Domaine Borgeot makes one of the purest and most consistent styles in Chassagne-Montrachet today. This village Chassagne comes from 50 year old vines, and it's fat. But by no means flabby. With orange flower richness and dusty minerality and good acidity to hold it all in suspension, this wine (as is often the case with Borgeot wines) drinks way above its appellation. There is a spiciness that almost reminds you of muscat, but the structure says Borgeot. A classic wine in a classic style.
Domaine Michel Arcelain Beaune ‘Siserpe’ 2006
A rich ruby color. There is a lovely floral aspect to the bouquet, then a generous finely tuned fruit right across the palate, offering subtle nuance. The tannins at the back are fine-boned. A wine that will appeal to those seeking for the ethereal side of Burgundy. That's right...2006! Arcelain wines age beautifully, and this elegantly sophisticated single-vineyard Beaune is perfect now
Great wines for your holiday table...but save some for yourself!
