$199 INTRODUCTION TO BURGUNDY WHITE 6 PACK
Here are some of the White Burgundies that we think best introduce the Elden Selections palate. We’re not into oaky Chardonnay. We like our whites to be fresh, lively and complex, showing off the diversity of Burgundian minerality
You can taste the ‘terroir’ in Elden Selections White Burgundy, from Chablis, through the Cote de Beaune and onward to the south.
INCLUDES 1 BOTTLE OF EACH WHITE WINE PLUS GROUND SHIPPING INCLUDED
Domaine Jean Fery Bourgogne ‘Les Montatines’ Blanc 2018
Pure deep fruit, rounded with just enough oak to make your mouth water. Floral and citric, but mouth-filling and long.
Julien Cruchandeau Aligote 'Le Village' 2019
From 50 year old vines in the hills above Nuits St Georges, this Aligote is fresh and spicy with green apple acidity. Bright, crisp almost crunchy fruit and a deep, floral lingering finish carried out long by the limestone minerality.
Domaine Borgeot Bourgogne 'Clos de la Carbonade' 2018
This single-vineyard Bourgogne ‘Clos de la Carbonade’ is wholly owned by the Borgeots. And the wine they make there is the greatest surprise on our list. It’s a small parcel, located in the village of Bouzeron, the northernmost village of the Cote Chalonnaise. But don’t be fooled by its modest pedigree: the ‘Clos de la Carbonade’ has something special about it. And year after year we see remarkable wines that far outshine appellations much grander than Bourgogne. The Borgeot’s can’t explain it…yet. But there is a geological study underway to see what makes this parcel tick.
Marchand-Tawse Bourgogne Blanc 2019
From parcels around Savigny-les Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and the Hautes Cotes de Nuits, this is a cuvee designed to show Pascal Marchand’s vision of Chardonnay. Floral, with that Corton Mountain minerality, great acidity that makes it mouth-wateringly juicy and open. It’s ready. A lovely image of white from the middle reaches of the Cote d’Or.
Domaine Michel Rebourgeon Bourgogne Blanc 2019
From a tiny plot, less than half an acre. For those of you who know the area, it’s near the roundabout between Pommard and Beaune. Freshness, green apple and floral. Round, good depth and density
Domaine Borgeot Bouzeron 2018
Floral and fresh, with green apple acidity and body. Minerality picks up the acidity and carries it to a long finish. Elegant expression of aligoté doré from a single vineyard. Great aperitif wine, but has what it takes to age.
