Five years ago, we planted a seven-acre vineyard here at the Domaine de Cromey, known as 'Le Clos'.

Le Clos was a vineyard that was part of the original estate, then known as Le Chateau de Cromey. It is wholly owned by the Domaine de Cromey, hence the addition of 'monopole' to the label. It had not had vines on it for over 70 years, meaning that the soil was never touched by chemical fertilizers or pesticides, making it ideal for the production of an organic wine.

As such, it has become the jewel in the crown of the Cromey ethic.

Crimson red with fine, subtle aromas of raspberry and blackcurrant. Spicy with a hint of licorice. Supple and round on the palate, with soft tannins. Good acidity adds freshness. Good structure, generous. A notable concentration and depth for such young vines. Rich and aromatic, lively and persistent, with well-integrated tannins.Presents both early-drinking and aging potential.
