Five years ago, we planted a seven-acre vineyard here at the Domaine de Cromey, known as 'Le Clos'.

Le Clos was a vineyard that was part of the original estate, then known as Le Chateau de Cromey. It is wholly owned by the Domaine de Cromey, hence the addition of 'monopole' to the label. It had not had vines on it for over 70 years, meaning that the soil was never touched by chemical fertilizers or pesticides, making it ideal for the production of an organic wine.

As such, it has become the jewel in the crown of the Cromey ethic. Be among the first to taste the freshness and minerality that the Couchois hills bring to organic chardonnay. And share in our excitement as we live the dream.

White gold robe with hints of emerald.  Very expressive in the nose, floral and honey, citrus and almonds. Elegant and balanced in attack,  pure, fresh fruit, with subtle nuances of lemon and fleshy peach. Good acidity, hence good length. Limited quantities due to low yields, but the quality is there. Good balance, fresh, expressive fruit and impressive structure for young vines.
