BUBBLES DUET
Beautiful Sparkling pair to celebrate the holidays this year includes one bottle each of Champagne Brut Tradition and Cremant de Bourgogne.
Pierre Brigandat Champagne Brut Tradition
Strange as it may sound, this 'Brut Tradition' is an ‘assemblage’ of 100% Pinot Noir cuvees. 25% is from what Bertrand Brigandat calls the 'cuvee reserve', wine from previous vintages set aside for blending purposes. While so much Champagne these days tastes of under-ripe fruit and yeast, this 'blanc de Noir' is a real wine, with finesse and elegance. The roundness of the Pinot fruit is balanced with a bright acidity, and the soft pearl of the bubbles brings up aromas fresh and floral.
Domaine Borgeot Cremant de Bourgogne
Don’t call it Champagne. You’ll get us in trouble. But this Borgeot Cremant de Bourgogne is produced in the very same way as those much more expensive wines that we are allowed to call Champagne. A well-made Cremant is a joy. A wine you can pull out for any occasion. And a wine which is made on a more human scale than the millions upon millions of bottles produced by our neighbors to the north. And that’s reason enough to celebrate!
