Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils Chablis Bas de Fourchaume 2022
The parcel named "Bas de Fourchaume" is located, as its name indicates, under the Premier Cru Fourchaume. Classified in the Chablis appellation, this bottom of the hillside benefits from the same South-South/West exposure as the premier cru, with deeper clay-loam soil. Long maceration on fine lees. Part in stainless steel, part in 600l oak demi-muits. Assembled after 12 months, and then another 6 months of maturation 'en masse'. Light fining and filtering, but not cold treated, to preserve aromatic finesse.
Domaine Borgeot Bourgogne Blanc 2022
This is a real (secret) gem, the vines actually sit within the commune of Puligny-Montrachet and this is evident in the floral and citrus fruit bouquet, surprisingly dense and mineral in the attack. It does not possess all the intensity of a village or 1er cru but no doubt is a perfect example of how, when you understand the sometimes complex Burgundy wine laws, great quality can work in our favour, drinking perfectly now.
Jean Claude Rateau Hautes Cotes de Beaune Blanc 2022
Racy and bright, ripe aromas of lemon and almond, spiced pear and apple, and that hint of sweet river rock. The palate is balanced and has impressive length. The antithesis of fat, oaky Chardonnay, this is a real terroir wine and a great value.
Domaine Gilles Bouton Bourgogne Blanc 2022
Beautiful example of how good regional classified wines can be. The caveat is that the producer must be top quality, small production. Complex citrus on the attack, with good concentration, saline minerality merges with some white pepper into the finish.
Julien Cruchandeau Aligote 'Le Village' 2023
From 50 year old vines in the hills above Nuits St Georges, this Aligote is fresh and spicy with green apple acidity. Bright, crisp almost crunchy fruit and a deep, floral lingering finish carried out long by the limestone minerality.
Jean-Jacques Girard Bourgogne Blanc 2021
A baby Savigny white. Its youthful vivacity tempered with a judicious use of oak yields a balance and a maturity beyond its years. That's the hand of the winemaker working with terroir that he was born to.
Domaine Borgeot Bourgogne Blanc 'Clos de la Carbonade' 2023
This remarkable regional wine originates from a small, special parcel in the village of Bouzeron, owned exclusively by the exceptional winemakers at Domaine Borgeot. Though the Borgeot brothers are best known for their outstanding village and premier cru wines from Burgundy’s revered “golden triangle” in the Côte de Beaune, this offering from the Côte Chalonnaise is not to be overlooked. Don’t let its humble classification fool you. Lively aromas of lemon, green apple, and citrus. On the palate, this medium-bodied white Burgundy reveals a gentle creaminess, perfectly offset by a long crisp citrus finish.
Domaine Felix Saint Bris 'Cuvee Sainte Claire' 2022
Discreet Sauvignon notes throughout. Grassy and slightly herbal of thyme. Biscuity. The famous gooseberry, but also lime peel, pear and green apple. Smoky minerality, slightly saline. Along mineral finish on fruit and spice. Nice one.
Domaine Des Malandes Petit Chablis 2023
With several parcels of 25-45 year-old vines on the Left Bank, the domain makes a Petit Chablis (‘Petit Chablis’ is the equivalent to appellation Bourgogne for the wines of Chablis) which is vinified in stainless steel and then allowed to rest 6-8 month in stainless allowing it to develop the tension that Chablis is known for. Fleshy white peach fruit dominates, and the wine is fresh and pure, accessible young.
Domaine de Cromey Bourgogne Blanc 'Le Clos' 2023
With brilliant clarity and visible density, and a hint of greeny-gold, the first attack is background floral and citrus, a classic chardonnay fruit profile, pure and grassy, slightly saline, with charming reductive smokiness. It’s persistent and subtle at the same time. A fresh charming example of white Burgundy.
Agnes Paquet Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023
Raised partly in steel with a small percentage of oak, this Chardonnay from strong limestone soils in the Hautes Cotes is crunchy, like biting in to the grape bunch, with fantastic freshness and good acidity on the finish. Mineral and pure.
Domaine Borgeot Bouzeron 'Les Tournelles' 2023
Bouzeron, a village in the Côte Chalonnaise, is uniquely designated for producing wine from Burgundy’s second white grape: Aligoté. This single-vineyard expression, made from the prized aligoté doré clone, is bright and floral, with crisp green apple acidity and surprising texture. A firm mineral core lifts the palate and extends into a long, vibrant finish. Elegant and refreshing, it’s a standout example of Aligoté—perfect as an aperitif, yet structured enough to reward aging.
