Hosted by Dennis, Stephen, and Greg
This month's tasting series will be featuring Elden Selections, an online Burgundy wine retailer that brings small production Burgundy wines to the U.S. from the heart of Burgundy.
Dennis Sherman is a United States native that has lived in France for over 30 years and knows this region and its producers like the back of his hand. Over the years he has built lifelong relationships with many small production producers, which has allowed people in the United States to enjoy these hidden gem wines that can’t be found anywhere else. He has handcrafted a Burgundy wine list that is second to none.
Stephen Lenahan is a WSET certified wine teacher and has lived at the Domaine de Cromey for the past 2 years. He was also the head chef for a castle in Ireland so if there is one thing he knows, its’ flavors. He knows everything from how the terroir affects the wines to what pairs best with them. If someone is going to take your mouth on a flavor journey it's Stephen.
This package includes 1 bottle of each wine:

Domaine Oudin Chablis 2017
The Oudin sisters, Nathalie and Isabelle oversee their precious 20 acres of vines in Chablis. They have featured this year in our 'Women in wine' series. They are great winemakers who succeed in expressing the unique terroir of Chablis into our glass.
This is a great introduction to their range of wines from this world famous region.
Domaine Julien Cruchandeau Hautes Côtes de Nuits 'Les Cabottes' 2018
Julien is a young winemaker from the south of the Côte de Nuits. He has arrived at winemaking from a love of culinary arts. Cooking was his first passion, working with ingredients, aromas, and flavour combinations. He still reflects this philosophy today, each vintage is treated differently like one would work with ingredients. In 2002, at the age of 24, his name was mentioned in the Guide Hachette, then in 2005 he was awarded gold at the Concours des vins la Côte Chalonnaise, which won him great respect from fellow professionals in the industry. Nowadays he produces 9 different appellations.

Domaine Borgeot Bourgogne Blanc 'Clos de la Carbonade' 2018
A relationship going back over thirty years. Pascal Borgeot and his daughter Julia (next generation and very talented !!) are based in the family winery in Remigny, very near Santenay. Domaine Borgeot's holdings cover much of the southern Côte de Beaune, the most prized area for white wine in the world (Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet). This Bourgogne proves the point that quality Burgundy does not have to be expensive. During the tasting we will look at the label and define the terms, it will help a lot in understanding the wine and the region. We believe it drinks above its AOC and it will not be the last time we will taste this winemaker. When we return in February we will try his 'Bouzeron' which is a village where a different white grape is grown, Aligoté!!
Domaine Albert Boillot Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir 2018
Based in Volnay, in the Côte de Beaune. This winemaker is a renowned vigneron, with tiny production, exclusively to Elden Selections. The Vines for this wine are actually situated in the commune of Pommard (a mile from Volnay). And the wine expresses hints of what this famous village can produce. Another example of a wine that drinks above its AOC.
