JULIEN CRUCHANDEAU ALIGOTE ‘LE VILLAGE’ 2020 CASE
Aligote.
For years, the second white grape of Burgundy.
But no more!
As 'quality climbs the hill' with ever-warmer growing seasons, a new, young, hungry generation of producers is climbing the hill too, looking for affordable vineyards, and throwing themselves into producing so-called lesser appellations with star-quality winemaking.
We've introduced you to Julien Cruchandeau already. He's a true star.
But this is the first time we bring you his Aligote. From a single vineyard in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits called, simply, 'Le Village'.

Julien Cruchandeau Aligote 'Le Village' 2020
From 50 year old vines in the hills above Nuits St Georges, this Aligote is fresh and spicy with green apple acidity. Bright, crisp almost crunchy fruit and a deep, floral lingering finish carried out long by the limestone minerality.
