Here are some of the White Burgundies that we think best introduce the Elden Selections palate. We’re not into oaky Chardonnay. We like our whites to be fresh, lively and complex, showing off the diversity of Burgundian minerality

You can taste the ‘terroir’ in Elden Selections White Burgundy, from Chablis, through the Cote de Beaune and onward to the south. Pure Chardonnay Bliss!

Marchand-Tawse Bourgogne Blanc 2020
All the grapes are grown in the communes of Savigny-les-Beaune, Pernand Vergelesses and the south of Nuit Saint Georges, so hallowed terroir. Pascal Marchand was one of the pioneers of Biodynamic farming in Burgundy, 30 years ago! His passion has not subsided and his wines are amazing.

Domaine Agnès Paquet, Bourgogne Chardonnay 2020
If you have followed our ‘women in wine’ campaign you would already know about this talented winemaker based in Auxey-Duresses. The grapes for this wine actually come from a 'Lieu-dit'  named 'Les Lurets' in the commune of Vonay. The vineyard borders Meursault. Again a wine that drinks above its AOC.

Domaine Cruchandeau Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc 2018
We are delighted to have this exciting young winemaker within Elden selections. Julien vinifies each vintage according to need and the results are great. The Côte de Nuits is famed for its reds and white Burgundy is rare, even in the Hautes Côtes, so this is a real treat. Very low yields, raised in 50% steel tank and 50% wood (with 10% new oak in the mix). Orange flower and honey, rich but fresh and open.  Long pleasant floral finish.

Domaine Borgeot Bourgogne Blanc 2017
A relationship going back over thirty years. Pascal Borgeot and his daughter Julia (next generation and very talented !!) are based in the family winery in Remigny, very near Santenay. Domaine Borgeot's holdings cover much of the southern Côte de Beaune, the most prized area for white wine in the world. You will also experience wines from Côte Côte Chalonnais and Bouzeron. This 2017 Bourgogne delivers expert balance. It really has been our in-house go to wine this summer at Domaine de Cromey. Complex citrus on the attack, intense clean minerality on the mid-palate and a refreshing impressive finish. We believe it drinks above its AOC and it will not be the last time we say that about this winemaker.

Domaine Jean Claude Rateau Hautes Côtes de Beaune Blanc 2018
Considered the Godfather of Biodynamic farming in Burgundy. Many of his colleagues who previously looked on with skepticism are now also converted to this way of winemaking. This is a great Terroir driven wine.

Domaine Félix Saint Bris 'Cuvée Sainte-Claire' 2020
Once you understand the Basics of Burgundy then there is a lot of fun to be found within the exceptions to the rules. For some people they are surprised to learn that Burgundy is usually Chardonnay, Chablis is Chardonnay. So to hear of a Sauvignon Blanc from Burgundy seems just wrong. But this wine certainly proves that some exceptions are worth making. Remember that Sancerre is not too far from this village. This wine is certainly a Sauvignon Blanc made with Burgundian heart. So the lesson is, if the label says 'Saint Bris' it is a White Burgundy wine produced with Sauvignon Blanc
