This 6 Pack of Red includes 1 bottle of each:
Domaine Michel Arcelain Pommard 'Noizons' 2010
Intense aromas of blackberry, black currant, cherries and licorice. A fist in a velvet glove, fine but dense; more structured than you sense at first. Warm and round and long.
Gabin and Felix Richoux Irancy 'Veaupessiot' 2015
This is Pinot Noir in a style all its own, with delicate cherry fruit and brooding minerality. This single vineyard 'Veaupessiot' sits on a point over looking the river valley with perfect exposition. Gabin and Felix Richoux holds back their wines until they feel they have developed enough.
Jean-Claude Rateau Beaune 1er Cru ‘Les Reversées 2017
From young and old vines, on brown limestone subsoil and clay topsoil, in biodynamic agriculture. Long, slow day fermentation with manual pigeage, aged 18 months in not-new oak. Rich, showing deep aromas of blackberry, violets and earth with hints of citrus, plum and spice. The palate is round and ripe with firm acidity and deep black fruits ripe plum and earth going to a lovely long finish. While this can be enjoyed young it will be best after 5 to 7 years of aging.
Domaine Pierre Thibert Nuits St Georges 1er Cru 'Rue De Chaux" 2017
As you might expect, this young Nuits-St. Georges Premier Cru is full and earthy with a good tannic structure. The vintage brings good acidity which makes the fruit lively and juicy, but in comparison to the 2015 vintage, this wine carries a brighter (riper) fruit profile. Floral undertones emerge, reminiscent of violet. Black current fruit merges with soft tannin and a balanced finish.
Domaine Jean Fery Vougeot 1er Cru 'Les Cras' 2016
Vougeot is best known, of course, for the Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot. But Vougeot also has four 1er Cru climats as well, making 'insider' wines, with 'Les Cras' the best situated. Earthy and stony with complexity and nuance, deep and powerful and at the same time floral. This is better than many parcels in the Clos de Vougeot itself. It is masterful.
Marchand-Tawse Vosne Romanee 1er Cru 'Les Petits Monts' 2016
Deep color. A deep nose too with whole clusters dark fruit Fills the mouth with fruit and concentration. Fresh and complex. Very impressive.
Note: These wines are sourced from small producers, and so quantities are very limited. If ever we run out of a particular wine, we will substitute a wine of equal or greater value.
