Domaine Michel Rebourgeon Bourgogne Côte d'Or Rouge 2018
Expressive Pinot with both power and fruit: the power of the Pommard terroir with deep ripeness, An amazingly charming nose and a wine that drinks above its appellation.

Jean-Jacques Girard Bourgogne Rouge 2018
Jean-Jacques Girard's family has been making wine in the Savigny-les Beaune valley for 500 years, so it's not surprising to find that his regional appellation Bourgogne Rouge drinks like a little Savigny. Blackcurrant freshness, a touch of earth subsoil, a supple, easy structure and bull's-eye line on through the whole from the attack to the finish.

Michel Arcelain Bourgogne 2016
This Bourgogne will stop you in your tracks.  Like so many regional appellation wines from small, proud production domains, the grapes for this wine come from a vineyard in the village where the producer lives and works.  In this case…it’s Pommard. This is no big-volume blend Bourgogne like you get from the negociant houses.  No, you’ll swear that this is a little Pommard.  And that’s how it should be!

Domaine Pierre Thibert Bourgogne Côte d'Or 'Les Bouffales' Rouge 2017
A single vineyard Bourgogne is often a thing of wonder, a reflection of the precise terroir of the village it comes from. And this Bourgogne shouts Nuit St. Georges. A superbly positioned parcel. Blackcurrant and pepper, supple in its attack, complete through the mid-palate with a finish on fruit. Great structure, a wine that drinks above its appellation.

Elodie Roy Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge 2018
Bursting with aromas of raspberries and cherries, this Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune is medium-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a core of ripe fruit, lively acids and melting tannins. Expressive and charming, this refreshing red will drink well young.

Regnaugot Maranges 1er Cru 'Clos des Loyeres' 2017
This much-awarded wine, from an appellation you have probably never heard of, is the standard-bearer for the Maranges. When we first arrived in Burgundy, neighboring Santenay was considered rustic and undrinkable. All that has changed. And now it’s the turn of Maranges to come into the fold. Producers like the Regnaudots have been making it happen for a decade now. This premier cru ‘Clos des Loyeres’ is black cherry in color and black cherry in flavor, which is considered typical of the vineyard. It’s a gutsy wine, full-bodied, round and balanced. There’s a touch of cocoa on that fruit that is persistent right through to the finish. A classy example of what Maranges can be. You have to try this.
