DOMAINE THIERRY MORTET GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN MIXED 6 PACK
Thierry Mortet Gevrey Chambertin 2018: a single vineyard and a super-assemblage!
Here is Thierry Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin at its best...and at its most diverse!
Gevrey is famously complex, with so many variations of soil structure coming out of the Combe Saint Jacques
that a study of the village wines of Gevrey Chambertin could take a lifetime.
But we can save you some time.
And make it fun to boot!
Here are two different Gevrey-Chambertins.
One made from an 'assemblage' of 20 different vineyards.
One from a single vineyard called 'Vigne Belle'.
One gives you an overview of what Gevrey is all about.
The other gives you a taste of pure 'terroir'.
I can't think of a more interesting Gevrey tasting than these 2 bottles side-by-side.
Same producer.
Same vintage...the glorious 2018
Different takes on 'terroir'
Call you friends. It's time for a Gevrey-Chambertin tasting!
Includes 3 of each:
Thierry Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin 2018
This Gevrey-Chambertin village is made from grapes from 20 different parcels of vines in appellation Gevrey-Chambertin! It would be hard to find a more representative example of Gevrey village’s famous diversity. Pure and open, intense blackberry and black currant, a touch of licorice.
Thierry Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin 'Vigne Belle' 2018
This single vineyard village Gevrey-Chambertin is not called ‘Vigne Belle’ (beautiful vine) for nothing. This vineyard produces one of the finest expressions of Gevrey-Chambertin ‘terroir’. The domain produces about 3000 bottles a year of old vine wine that is subtle and complex, suave and voluminous. A gem in Gevrey.
