DOMAINE POTINET-AMPEAU 2012 MIXED 6-PACK
The Domaine Potinet-Ampeau is one of a very few Burgundy producers to make wine meant to be laid down, and to hold vintages in their cellars to age before release. Vincent Durrieu is the fifth generation to carry forward these very noble Burgundian traditions. And the cellars, as you can imagine, are a rich source.
Here's a chance to taste true Burgundy, an uncompromising style of layered complexity. Something you will never forget and that you will rarely find elsewhere.
Mixed case includes 3 bottles of each RED wine:
Volnay 1er Cru 'Clos des Chênes' 2012
Do we need to introduce one of the best-known vineyards of this generation? Here we have that 2012 fruit, just coming into its maturity, but with lots of legs left to run. The precise, chiseled palate is generous red fruit and density. A great vineyard, in a great vintage, from Potinet-Ampeau...who know a thing or two about making wine to age.
Pommard 1er cru 'Pezerolles' 2012
The Pommard 1er Cru 'Les Pezerolles' vineyard sits on the Beaune side of Pommard facing east, just above the walled in vineyards of 'Les Epenots'. The soil make up has enough clay in it to give a consistently powerful wine, year in, year out. 'Pezerolles' is considered one of the great Pommards; rich, round, gutsy, with deep color, intense fruit and good tannis. It is particularly apt for aging in the Potinet-Ampeau style.
