Griotte-Chambertin

Griotte-Chambertin is one of the smallest and most elusive of Gevrey-Chambertin’s Grands Crus. The name “Griotte” refers to wild cherry, and indeed the wines often evoke cherries, raspberries, and violets in both aroma and flavor. This Grand Cru produces Pinot Noir of remarkable finesse—less muscular than some neighbors but deeply expressive and perfumed. The palate is supple and refined, supported by fine tannins and mineral energy. With age, Griotte-Chambertin develops notes of truffle, spice, and dried flowers, achieving haunting complexity. It exemplifies the grace and precision that make Burgundy so captivating.
